Doobah Eco Plan Information
We are working on a project to identify potential tourism opportunities for Doobah, a large piece of land that was acquired as part of our ongoing treaty negotiations through an Interim Treaty Agreement with the Province.
Doobah is a large, 350-hectare (865 acre) site on Nitinaht Lake about 22 kilometres by road, or a 20-minute boat ride from Malachan. Doobah is about seven times larger than Malachan!
The Doobah Lands Study will help us better understand what kind of opportunities we could pursue there in the longer term. It will also help us understand what kind of tourism project our members would like to see and support, as we work to better manage our new lands and explore new economic development opportunities.
